Wearing Compression for the First Time

The first few times you wear your compression garment you will notice the squeeze. It is OK to begin wearing your garment gradually. Try wearing them for just a few hours the first day and then increase the number of hours each day until you can wear them comfortably throughout the day while you are up and about.

Follow PhysicianÍs instructions

Wearing Compliance

It is important to wear your compression garments everyday. Compression garments manage an on-going problem. When you remove your compression garment the condition responsible for your symptoms is still there. Failure to wear the garment as instructed may cause your condition to become more severe.

The elastic fibers of your compression garment will break down with wear. Proper care will increase the "life" span of your garment.

Reconstruction Surgery Bra
August 18, 2015
After my delayed breast reconstruction surgery with implants, I woke up with this bra. It holds supports breasts nicely and is comfortable without feeling too compressed. Very easy to put on and remove. Although I must wear button up shirts for now with this underneath, and must wear it 24/7, I have grown quite accustomed to the feel of it. It is easy to sleep in. I can wear a low cut bra for about an hour when going out socially, however upon returning home I go back to this bra. Wearing it most all the time will assist you in your recovery.

Jobst Surgical Vest Review
September 8, 2013
I returned from the operating room after having a right mastectomy. I had a Jobst surgical vest with cups in place. My dressings were held in place securely, yet it was easy to check on my drainage tubes and dressings for drainage. I'm sure that the vest decreased swelling and lessened post surgical pain.
Vest had front hooks and sturdy plastic zipper. It was easy to remove and adjust with the velco shoulder straps.
Front hooks and zipper difficult to loosen, particularly with limited motion of my right hand and arm immediately after surgery.
